How To Sew a Camera Case

You readers found some great camera cases for PartySugar and myself last week, but if you didn't immediately order one of the Neiman Marcus Snapshot cases or of the Panda Digital Camera Case, you might consider making your own simple case until you find one you want to buy...or as a substitute for buying one.

Craftzine sparked my attention by sharing a great tutorial to make a simple fabric snap close camera case that can be modeled to any camera and would make a great Mother's Day gift for mom. Check out the full tutorial here.

I wonder if you could use stitch witchery for the seams. You just iron it between the fabric where you would normally sew. I have used it for a quick table cloth, roman shades, curtains, and hemming clothes.

I think I might have to use that tutorial to make a case for my mobile phone instead because I use that as my camera.

Etsy has so many of these kind of things. I love cute homemade things. I really do prefer making stuff, if I can, rather than giving HUGE companies my cash!

The fabric is by Amy Butler who is the queen of cute handbags. You can also find lots of cute tutorials for bags here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=69911.0 That camera case is on my to-do list once I get home to my machine! I have a knitted case, but it's not very functional.

This looks so professional and totally cute, I really wanted to make one so i went to look at the directions and it requires a sewing machine, which i do not have. :( I Wonder if it can be done with fabric glue, i can't sew.
