Hallelujah! Horizon App Turns All Videos Into Landscape Mode

You know the scenario all too well: you shoot a video with your phone in portrait mode (AKA upright) and it looks great. But once you finally upload and watch it online, it shows up squished between two black bars to fill the frame.

Instead of rotating your phone and shooting horizontally the next time you want to capture your cat or something that's sure to go viral, you do it again. Darnit! For those of us who fail to remember, or are just too lazy, Horizon app is here to save the day.

The app makes sure all your videos are shot in landscape (AKA widescreen) mode no matter which way you hold your phone. How does it produce this magic? It automatically adjusts and rotates the video framing so that, even if you switch from portrait to landscape, the picture stays horizontal. Sometimes in order to do so, though, it has to crop the top and bottom of the video and zoom in to fill the frame.

Why didn't anyone think of this sooner? Get the app ($1) now. YouTube superstar, here you come.
