The Hunger Games vs The Lord of the Rings Quotes

Hunger Games vs. Lord of the Rings: Who Said It?

At first glance, you may not think that The Hunger Games and Lord of the Rings have much in common — Katniss in The Hunger Games battles her fellow Tributes to be the last one standing, while Frodo leans on his Fellowship to get him through his quest to destroy the one ring to rule them all — but they do share similar story lines. Both films are about survival, journeying into the unknown, and unseen forces that cannot be controlled.

You know your favorite tales inside and out, but can you tell the difference between the two just by quotes from the movies and books? Find out how well you know your Hunger Games and Lord of the Rings quotations in this quiz.

Seriously? I haven't even seen the Hunger Games (Or read the books), and I probably never will, and I still got 9/10. The only reason I didn't get the 1st one is because it seemed so painstakingly obvious, I second guessed myself.    Honestly, anyone who has ever seen LOTR should know every one of these without even thinking. Nothing in common, seriously. This is really, really reaching for more reasons to talk about THG, which, I might note, those of us who aren't fans are completely disgusted with and sick of hearing about. It's nothing new. Battle Royale did it in 2000, 8 years before the books were even written. It's not some prolific new thing, and the hype around it is ridiculous.    As a geek, I really wish Geek News outlets would cover generally geeky stuff and stop focusing on one movie that is *not* geeky. Everyone & their grandmother is going to see it. It's not niche. The premise isn't even geeky. It's mass violence for the masses.

"Both films are about survival, journeying into the unknown, and unseen forces that cannot be controlled"   This could be the premise of any of a large number of films.

Uh... I like the Hunger Games, but really?  All of the quotations that sound as if they were written by an English linguistics professor are from 'Lord of the Rings', and all of the ones that read like modern teenage vernacular are from 'The Hunger Games'.

If "Hunger games" needs a comparison it should be to "Battle Royale"

I don't think anyone ever compared the two movies. However, maybe they meant Lord of the Flies?

I am a little disappointed in myself that I only got 9 right. But I will just chalk it up to a very well-done quiz and not a personal failure.
