The square-shaped world of Instagram opened its app to videos last year and, today, released a new tool called Hyperlapse (free, iOS) to make everyone's Insta-made motion pictures gorgeous. Hyperlapse turns shaky home films into professional-looking, high-quality time-lapses. The new app features a stabilization technology that makes footage look smooth and cinematic.
Mobile movie makers can speed up their short films up to 12 times, then share the videos on Instagram (duh) or Facebook, which bought Instagram for a cool billion in 2012 . Using the app is simple: just tap and hold to record! Instagram's blog post didn't mention an upcoming Android app — just that Hyperlapse was only available for iPhones right now. We'll keep you posted on any updates. Scroll down to dive into Instagram's new app.
