Do you constantly snap photos with your iPhone and post them online or send to friends? If so, good news — there's a new, free app that makes it easier to share gorgeous visual status images with a group of pals without posting them for the world to see. Instagram is "a fast, beautiful, and fun way to share your life with friends through a series of pictures."
Find out more and how it works after the jump.
Instagram is simple to use; download it to your iPhone from the iTunes Store and sign up with some basic information. Then, the app searches your contacts (including Facebook and Twitter, if you allow it) for friends to follow. Once you're in the app, your friends' photos appear in a stream, where you're able to comment on others' photos or add one of your own. A bonus: you're able to apply over a dozen different filters to any photo snapped using Instagram before sharing. Location data can be added to photos, photos can be shared using Twitter, Tumblr, Flickr, and Facebook, and you're able to check into Foursquare when you post a photo with a location.
