Internet Addiction

Would You Rather: Give Up Food or the Internet?

The answer to the above question seems like an obvious one to me (I like food, and life), but in a recent study conducted by AdAge, eight percent of Americans would rather starve than give up their Internet connection.

While other stats aren't so shocking — 49 percent of respondents said that they'd rather give up cable, 37 percent said their cell phone, and only six percent said Internet — that remaining eight percent? Well, they'd rather give up food than be unable to check their Facebook, Twitter, favorite blogs, and other fun stuff on the Internet. I have to admit: I live on the Internet, and when my connection is down, I freak out. It's like an addiction (with real risks involved), but one that I would give up if it meant not starving to death. There is life outside, you know.

So totally out of morbid curiosity, tell me — would you rather give up food or give up the Internet?

What do you mean by 'give up'? If it means eating less, then I say I wouldn't mind eating less. But if it means giving up food altogether, then.. Yeah food anyday please.

Yeah, it IS a no-brainer. We need food to live. Although, we have to admit that we are all addicted to some type of technology!
