One trend I can get behind: embracing technology as a way to donate to charity. And now a brand-new auction is using Twitter to leverage donations. TwitChange, the first celebrity Twitter auction, offers an interesting reward for donations: having a well-known celebrity retweet, follow, or otherwise mention you in a tweet of their own.
Check out a partial list of celebrity participants and find out how to bid after the jump.
The growing list of participating celebrities includes Pete Wentz, Nicole Richie, Mariah Carey, and. . . yes, Justin Bieber. The Justin Bieber Mega Package, which is already selling for over $2,000, includes a follow by the star for a minimum of 90 days, one retweet, and one mention of your Twitter username in a tweet of his own.
The auction is being conducted via eBay; to bid on your favorite celebrity tweeter, visit twitchange.com between now and September 25.
