Strange things were afoot on Twitter and Tumblr on Thursday night when Matt Smith's sister sent a tweet [1] implying the former Doctor Who star had some big news to come. The fandom got a little excited speculating what the Doctor was up to (a late addition to the Star Wars cast [2]?), and today we learned he's signed on to the new Terminator film [3] in a "major" role.

The details of Matt's role are still a mystery, but fans are pretty thrilled to hear he'll be an addition to this huge sci-fi franchise. Naturally, fez, bow tie, and hyperventilating status updates were next . . .
