Just days after the announcement of Samsung's Galaxy Tab, one analyst is reporting that Apple may be coming out with a 7-inch iPad, and that it may be ready as soon as early next year. The analyst, who cites conversations with Apple's suppliers, predicts such a product will launch to better compete with the smaller-sized devices and appeal to consumers who feel the current 9.7-inch screen on the iPad is too large. Find out what else the new iPad could be packing when you read more.
The new iPad will support FaceTime, meaning it's going to come loaded with a front-facing camera, too. There's obviously no word from Apple on this rumor, so there are no confirmed details. But if this analyst is correct, I assume that a mini iPad (do you think they'd call it iPad Mini?) would cost less than the current model, which starts at $500.
