Cape Canaveral was abuzz with activity this morning as the space shuttle Endeavour lifted off at 8:56 a.m. (EDT). Six astronauts are aboard the shuttle, which first rolled out in 1991, and are bound for a 16-day mission to the International Space Station. The Endeavour launch faced multiple delays due to mechanical and weather problems (it was first scheduled for liftoff on April 29), but managed to leave Earth's orbit today for its final mission. There's only one remaining shuttle launch left for NASA's space shuttle program, so check out the images from today's launch in the slideshow, and be sure to tune in for an early July liftoff from Atlantis!
