Matt Smith on the true star — the show itself:
"We [myself, Karen Gillan, and Arthur Darvill, who play Amy and Rory Pond, respectively] had lived together for three years, we had lived in each other's pockets, and we had developed languages together . . . and I will miss them terribly, but the show is bigger than any other, and the show is the important thing. There will be a Doctor after me; he will be brilliant, and it will be brilliant. There will be companions after the companion now, there will be writers after Steve — the show is the star and so you've got to go with that. It's about change and it's about regeneration, and that is what wins, ultimately. You've got to put your own feelings to one side."
