Same-Day Book-Delivery Service

Google's Same-Day Book-Delivery Service Is a Procrastination Savior

Haven't bought your Fall-semester supplies yet? You're in luck, because there's a new procrastination savior in town: Google Shopping Express, which just launched same-day(!) book delivery from Barnes and Noble. You could get your books as soon as 9 a.m. and as late as 9 p.m. the very day you place your order.

Amazon, the longstanding online retailer for books, offers a same-day service too, in select cities. Orders need to be in by noon, and shipments will arrive by 9 p.m. for a $6 flat fee.

Google's Shopping Express service, however, offers a flat $5 per store fee for unlimited same-day deliveries. Buy as many books as you want from Barnes and Noble, or as many goods as you want from Costco, and pay the same flat fee. But you won't have to pay that $5 fee for the next six months if you sign up for Google membership by Aug. 15. Google hasn't even announced what the subscription fee will be.

This fast, cheap book delivery launches in West LA, Manhattan, and the San Francisco Bay Area! Maybe now you can finally get started on your sci-fi Summer reading list.

Try it out and send us your testimonials in the comments below. If it's not in your city yet, speak up! Try tweeting at the service. For those of us who prefer the printed page, the Google/Barnes and Noble partnership is an awesome alternative for titles that aren't available (or pretty covers that aren't in stock) on Amazon.
