Samsung's Newest Phone Will Let You Unlock It With Your Eyes

Say hello to a new way of unlocking your phone with Samsung's latest offering. At an event on Aug. 2, Samsung revealed the Galaxy Note 7, a phone packed with features like an iris scanner that lets you unlock the phone with your eyes. Check out all the details.

  • Display size: 5.7 inches
  • Iris scanner: In addition to fingerprint scanning, you can now use your eyes to unlock your phone. Seriously.
  • Camera: 12 megapixel rear-facing camera and a 5 megapixel front-facing camera
  • Expandable memory: A microSD slot will "support up to 256 GB."
  • Water resistance: The Note 7 has an IP68 rating, making it water- and dust-resistant.
  • Wireless charging: You can quickly charge your phone with wireless charging.
  • Storage: 64GB
  • Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 820
  • Colors: Black Onyx, Blue Coral, Silver Titanium, and Gold Platinum (available only internationally)
  • Accessories: The Note 7 will come with the Note7 S Pen that lets you write on the screen without unlocking your phone and a slew of other features. You can also purchase the S-View Standing Cover, which can prop up your phone.
  • Price: Starts at $850.

The Note 7 is out on Aug. 19. If you purchase a Galaxy Note 7 or Galaxy S7 Edge, you can also receive a free Gear Fit2 or Samsung 256GB memory card.

The company also announced an improved Gear VR with a USB Type-C port, new touchpad, and a bigger view.

Based on the all the details above, you've probably realized that the new Note 7 is very similar to the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, with few differences in between. However, the iris scanner and curved design make it a phone worth having. Check out the photos ahead.
