Silicon Mouse Pad: Love It or Leave It?

This is one of those mouse pads that I immediately thought was blah until I learned that it is made from silicone and feels like glass. Featured on Zedomax, this silicon mouse pad is said to be extremely smooth so you can easily roll your mouse across it. It also looks like you could wipe spills and dirt off of it, unlike traditional thick rubber foam mats. No word on pricing just yet. Aside from the plain color, what do you think...love or leave?

there are people who do appreciate a nice and smooth mouse pad. My bro is a gamer, he show me, he had that kind of "gel wrist" pad, but well, his game wasn't good, the mouse was limitated. Now he brought a really nice smooth one, and I do notice the difference of his mouse pad and the other mouse pad I use. . So, now when somebody ask me what mouse or/an mouse pad they should get, I told them "Ask a gamer, they know". When I am not using a mouse pad or I am using a classic one, I do feel the difference now.

I'm at my desk a lot, so I have to have a wrist pad. I went about a year without a mousepad and my wrist grew feet: two hard little bumps that raised my wrist off the desk where it usually sat. MUCH like the little feet on the bottom of handbags. It was my body's defense against carpal tunnel. I felt LUCKY, seeing as how everyone I've ever known with carpal tunnel had to have surgery. I got a mouse pad and they eventually went away. If you're at your desk for any length of time, with your hand on the mouse, a wrist pad is just healthy.

It looks very useful as a plate mate. For your coffee or so.

Love it - especially if it's easy to clean.

I have gigantic mousepads on my desk just to protect the wood surface...they're there to protect against the mouse, not to help the mouse. Modern optical mice don't need them unless you're a graphic artist who needs an absolutely smooth glide.

I use a frosted glass one for gaming. Otherwise, no point in even using a mousepad.
