This Smartphone Doesn't Need to Be Plugged In For Days

Sony's line of Xperia Z phones have had one key differentiator from competitors — a waterproof exterior — and with the announcement of Xperia Z3 this week, the company's boasting one more feature that many smartphones don't have: a long battery life. According to Sony, the Xperia Z3 will have a two-day battery life with normal usage, making the iPhone 5S's eight to 10 hours of battery life with normal usage seem primitive.

As with Sony's original Xperia Z and Z2, the Z3 is water-resistant and can be submerged in up to three feet of water for no more than 30 minutes. The 5.2-inch display is just a bit smaller than Samsung's new phablet the Galaxy Note 4 and is said to have improved screen visibility in direct sunlight from the Z2.

A 20.7MP camera should have an easier time capturing pictures in low-light situations, a notorious problem for most phones on the market. Running on Android KitKat, the phone can double as a remote with your PlayStation 4.

The Xperia Z3 forgoes the usual brick look of previous Sony phones for the aluminum curves that seem to be popular this year. When the Z3 launches on T-Mobile in the Fall, it will be available in four colors: white, black, lime, and copper. Scroll on for a closer look at the Xperia Z3.
