Top US Cities to Find a Geeky Date

Top 10 US Cities to Date a Geek

Valentine's Day has come and gone, but that doesn't mean you have to stop looking for love (or at least a hot date), does it? And if you're into geeky guys, has your back — the online dating site recently released a list of cities you're likely to find one. Would you be surprised if I told you three of the top 10 cities were in the Bay Area? I didn't think so.

While I'm sure you can find yourself an eligible geek anywhere in the country, Match did their research to find where its most educated residents reside, and found that each of these top 10 places also house a tech firm or prestigious college of some sort. Top cities include Sunnyvale, CA, along with Cambridge and Somerville, MA. Of course, a "hot date" with a geek may mean cruising your local science museum before heading back to his place to play a mean match of Super Smash Bros. Brawl, but if you're anything like me, that scenario is pretty close to perfection. Just add ice cream sundaes and it's officially the best date ever.

See the full list of cities with big geek populations after the jump.

'a "hot date" with a geek may mean cruising your local science museum before heading back to his place to play a mean match of Super Smash Bros. Brawl' <---- such a stereo type! I'm a developer and I'm around "Geeks" all the time and they don't act like that. A lot of them love to go to bars, restaurants, lounges, snowboarding, play pool ... etc. Just like or even more than non-geeks. I rarely hear them talk about heading straight home to play video games or everything that is associated with being geeky is all they think about non-stop. Not saying that they don't play them, but they don't make it their life and they are not as socially awkward as people make them out to be. Or I should say now that they are in their 20s and 30's, they are not as socially awkward as they probably were when they were younger.
