Twitter has begun to roll out a new feature called Suggestions For You, which will help you find interesting and relevant people to follow on Twitter. The feature is based on algorithms built by Twitter's "user relevance" team and bases its suggestions on factors like the users you currently follow and the users who they are following. You can access these suggestions in the Find People section of Twitter.com.

Additionally, viewing a user's profile will give you suggestions of other, similar people to follow. If you choose not to follow a suggested user, click the "hide" button, which will prevent Twitter from suggesting that user again.
I'm curious to see how this pans out, or if users actually do utilize the feature. Previously, finding new or interesting people was a bit limited — you could check out Twitter's list of verified accounts for celebs or other VIPs, or browse their suggested users lists for suggested tweeters across a variety of topics. Now, if this algorithm works, it could potentially index all 100 million Twitter users. Talk about meeting new friends!
