Type n Walk iPhone App Is Kind of Ridiculous

The Type n Walk iPhone App Is Kind of Ridiculous

While I appreciate the safety factor of this iPhone app, it seems a little ridiculous to me. The Type n Walk app works with other apps and programs on your iPhone to give you a view of where you're going so you can stare at your phone all the time. Basically, it uses the camera along with other apps on the phone so you can update your Facebook status, post to Twitter, and text message, and not run into anything or anyone while you're typing.

The app is $1 in the App Store, but here's a better idea: if you absolutely must type a message and are worried about accidentally wandering into traffic, take 15 seconds to stop and stand still before you hit send.

I wish more people would just stop and do that crap. How many times have I nearly been elbowed into babies and stumbled over grannies avoiding a-holes typetypetyping away at their phones. Just stop AND friggin move to the side!

As much as I love texting and doing things on my phone, I think I'm one of those people who would not benefit from this. I wouldn't even notice what was coming at me seriously. It would just be a nifty little background for. I don't have an iPhone, anyway. LOL.

I'm afraid to admit this, but I have tripped while texting on my iphone! At walmart, of all places! I was texting while walking up to the front door and didn't notice a speed bump - one of the most gradual and low speed bumps I've ever seen! I tripped and fell but managed to keep my arm up in the air, so no damage to the phone... my new boots though, they got a little scratched up. I got up and laughed histerically, and still laugh when I think about it. So this app, maybe not such a bad idea!

I feel like this was inspired by Rick Mercer's BlackBerry parody: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XLMnbjMhPSg The helmet is a funnier idea, but this vid also includes a camera to let you walk around without taking your eyes off of your BB :) The ancient handsets tell us just how long ago they came up with this!
