HP has introduced updates to its Pavilion dv6 and dv7 laptops, the first of which is a beautiful, brushed metal exterior that caught my eye right away. The brown, textured finish has the look of wood grain, and according to HP's head designer, was partly inspired by a classic Eames chair. The newest Pavilion models also feature the sleek metal finishes of HP's popular Envy line.
Both models feature high-quality Beats Audio (there is even a subwoofer in the dv7!) and four speakers specifically designed to give the listener a great sound experience, whether listening with headphones or without. Speakers located below the screen are angled to project sound directly toward the user, and smaller speakers on the front edge of the computer further enhance the sound. Both models also feature HP's new CoolSense technology, which adjusts the computer's running temperature according to user preference.
The dv6 features a a 15.6-inch display, while the dv7 has a 17.3-inch display — both HD. Expect the Pavilion dv6 and dv7 to hit stores this Spring, with pricing to be determined.
