With the end of the year news slump in full effect, it's time to start making predictions for 2011. And, naturally, Apple is in the front of the pack with some exciting rumored news. First up: a job listing from Apple that's apparently for a Verizon iPad Engineer. The iPad was a huge success in 2010 and will certainly see continued growth in 2011; I can't imagine why Verizon wouldn't want to get into the iPad game.
There's more! Check out the second rumor after the break.
Besides the iPad, Verizon is rumored to be readying for an iPhone for its 4G network, which is said to land in stores in early 2011. According to the rumor, the phone "has been ready for some time," but is being held until after the Christmas rush so AT&T could enjoy one final sales push. The phone is expected to become available for sale directly after the announcement.
With rumors of the phone circulating for almost as long as the iPhone has existed, and Verizon's fast adoption of the iPad in stores bundled with a MiFi, the iPad rumor is certainly plausible. And while previous rumors have said that the iPhone would not be running on Verizon's new 4G network, it seems counterproductive to debut a new, coveted device that wouldn't take advantage of the technology.
