Apple Announces Clips, a Video Editing App That Actually Looks Useful

Apple announced several new products on March 21, like a special-edition red iPhone 7 and 7 Plus and a new iPad. The company also revealed it's releasing a new video editing app called Clips.
The app mixes Snapchat and iMovie features to help you create a fun video. Add emoji, text, filters, and music to your video — no need to record it first in Snapchat anymore. Clips is out for free in April and will only be available on iOS devices. See more details of the app ahead.

Add filters, emoji, and more to your photos and videos.
You can even add "full-screen posters with animated backgrounds" to your image.

Clips will translate anything you say aloud into a text caption.
Clips's best feature is definitely "Live Titles," which lets you record something you say and instantly translates that into a caption. Don't worry; you can always edit what the caption says or add emoji to it. It'll launch with support for 36 languages.

Need to stitch together a series of videos? Clips makes it easy to do that. Either record the videos in the app or import them from your library.

This isn’t another social media sharing app, either.
You can choose to share your photo or video through iMessage or download it and then upload to another app like Facebook. Sharing through iMessage is pretty easy; if your friend appears in the video or is someone you text a lot, the app will automatically suggest this person. If you agree, you can tap the name and the video will instantly pop up in an iMessage, ready to be sent.
