I'm counting down the year and rounding up all of our tech faves in 2009. This year, we saw plenty of ups and downs in tech news. All year we were faced with dramatic Facebook privacy concerns, while Amazon was involved in a rights debate over certain eBooks (which it later removed from Kindles). Not only did Steve Jobs take five months off to take care of medical problems, but Steven Hawking's health took a turn for the worse as well. Thankfully, both tech and science heavy hitters made great recoveries.
We were overjoyed to hear that Polaroid was making a triumphant comeback, but were blindsided by the death of Michael Jackson, which caused various social networks to crash with all the tweeting and status update traffic. Some of you were shocked and appalled to find that Ikea changed its signature font without warning, while Apple snatched up young Internet-based LaLa to take an even bigger approach to how we listen to music. Out of all these tech developments, tell me — what was the most shocking news headline of 2009?
