Which Smartphone Ad Do You Like Better?

With the sexy new BlackBerry Storm making its debut in November on the Verizon network, any early releases of pictures, and certainly videos, are always a treat. Watching RIM's first BlackBerry Storm commercial brought me back to Summer of 2007, when all we could think about was June 29 — the day Apple's iPhone hit store shelves. I decided to put the first iPhone commercial and now RIM's first BlackBerry Storm commercial side-by-side to see which one appeals to you more. Maybe I'm just biased because the Storm ad is new, but I find the music edgier, the colors brighter and it's just a lot livelier. Do you think the Storm ad makes it look more appealing than the iPhone?

I like the iPhone ad better: simple, effective, short, and I like the music better actually. And I always love how in the end the iPhone exits with a phone call. However, after seeing the Blackberry commercial, I definitely want one! I have an iPhone and I think it lacks a lot of things. Too bad the Storm is not a GSM phone :(.

Definitely the iPhone commercial. Simplicity is the key. I tend to tune out long and cluttered commercials.

Expandable memory has my attention. And not much else. I wonder if its camera and/or GPS works better than the iphone. They should sell that point harder if it does. It's good there's constantly more competition for the iphone. That'll force all these phones to get better and better at lower and lower prices.

Maybe I'm biased, but I like the iPhone one a lot better. I actually talk about the same topic but compare the iPhone commercials with the latest Microsoft commercials on my blog: http://thehopkinsonreport.com/2008/10/02/episode-24-ad-campaign-showdown-apple-vs-microsoft-round-2/ It's amazing how much the commercials are matching up with real-world applications in my life.

I like the iPhone commercial better. It shows exactly how one would use it. After the blackberry commercial I'm left wondering if it actually is a phone I could use.

I'm really good at tuning out commercials, there's no way the Blackberry commercial would get my attention. The iPhone ads always do because the spoken soundtrack pulls my focus up to the TV and away from my computer or whatever it is I'm doing while I watch TV. I can ignore peppy music all day, but human voices are really difficult to not listen to.

the iPhone commercial is almost an instruction video vs. the blackberry vid just showing off what it's "capable" of doing. I prefer seeing how easy it is to use, rather than being assaulted by an onslaught of images of what it does. iPhone

I think the blackberry commercial is really good. The thing that give the iPhone commercial and edge for me is back when it aired there were no other phones that did what it did (in such an elegant fashion). It really was a jaw dropper.

I like a commercial with catchy music cause I'm such an audiophile, but I really like the simplicity of the iphone ad more. I think that the graphics and slogans and whatnot are better in the Storm add, but it's just too... I dunno. There's too much of it. And it's a m inute longer than the iphone commercial. I like my commercials short and sweet, thank you.

I couldn't have said it better myself, vitisva.

I agree - there's too much crap on the Blackberry commercial

The iPhone commercial is better, simple and effective. The Blackberry Storm commercial is too cluttered and takes too long to cover what the Storm does. I find myself paying more attention to the song than the features.
