Microsoft's Xbox 360 is a popular gaming system, but fans can use for much more than games given its streaming capabilities and Internet connectivity. Xbox Live, Microsoft's Xbox content service, now has 25 million subscribers worldwide, which is officially more than top cable company Comcast. This is bad news for the cable service, which has been seeing a recent decrease in subscriptions, down to 23 million subscribers nationwide.
Find out why Comcast should continue to worry after the jump.
While most Xbox Live subscribers use the service to play video games online with friends, a strong number also use the service to stream movies and TV shows. Currently, Xbox Live accesses content from Zune Marketplace and Netflix, and soon, Hulu Plus, which could render a basic cable subscription nearly unnecessary. And if Microsoft starts its rumored subscription-only TV service, Xbox Live users will have more access to cable programming. Many of you have already given up cable, now it seems to be getting even easier to quit.
Have you quit cable? Would you?
