eBay Sues Craigslist For Unspecified Actions

Which Do You Like Better: Craigslist or eBay?

Online classified website disputes, oh my! eBay is suing Craigslist because two Craigslist directors took unspecified actions that "unfairly diluted eBay’s economic interest in the company," as eBay owns a minority interest in Craigslist. Yes, lots of big lawyer fightin' words!
Whatever the problem is, I'm feeling very Mean Girls today (blame the return of Gossip Girl), and since the two companies have pitted themselves against each other, I will too: Which do you prefer, Craigslist or eBay? Sure, one is better for local purchases, one better for collectibles . . . blah blah blah. I want to know your gut reaction, on who you just plain like better when you think of them?!

Yeah, that's me, Macgirl -- subversive! I guess that's why I'm a CL fan. :)

The only thing I dislike about Craigslist is that when I try to sell things, I get so many people that flak e out and never show up, especially when showing an apartment. At least with ebay I have protection, but I hate having to deal with shipping.

Oh, and I prefer craigslist for the versatility and the fact that fake bidders can't raise the price. Although we did have a sketchy buying incident back when the Wii first came out. I'm pretty sure I walked up on my husband about to get thumped for his cash when we were trying to buy wiimotes.

You can't rate users on craigslist. I'm all Ebay.

I like craigslist better for selling and ebay for buying. eBay's being a real jerk though. Craigslist is best for local sales - like an online version of the local newspaper's classifieds.

I've never used Craigslist - I've been very leery to do so. I've used eBay quite often, though.

CRAIGSLIST!!!!! I mean, come on. Where else can you find a dining room table, a job, a 1970s collection of XMen Comics, a book group, and a tranny looking to share an 8-ball? Nowhere I tell you. And let's not forget Rants & Raves. Good readin'.Granted, I have spent the past 10 years in Atlanta, NYC, and Chicago. I doubt I'd be such a Craigslist fan if I was back in Mobile, AL. But I use it for SO much more than just buying and selling things.

It depends on what I have to sell. Anything that's not easy for me to put in a padded envelope or small box and take to the post office goes to Craigslist.I will say that regardless of what I have to sell, I do hate some of eBay's new seller policies.

Craigslist all the way! I'm moving to a new city and Craigslist is amazingly helpful. Before January I would have said EBay. But EBay owns PayPal and forces one to use PayPal to transfer money electronically. There is virtually no protection for someone receiving money using PayPal. Clearing an unjust hold placed on your account takes an inordinate amount of time and effort.

I haven't ventured onto craigslist yet, but one of my friends sold all of his furniture on it when he moved cross country.

I bought a ton of new furniture for college on craigslist--- but I buy the small stuff like hair dye, extensions, headphones etc. on eBay.Honestly, I love both.

I've never even looked at Craig's List. I've used ebay on and off for about 8 years though

You know, I'd probably like CL more if I lived in a bigger city--NYC for example--in which CL is essentially a local eBay.

I like them both! We've sold a lot of things on CL that wouldn't have sold on eBay--like cheaper things (under $50) and things too large to ship. CL is also really convenient and I think it's fun to meet new people and see what they're like. eBay gets you more money and has more variety when purchasing. I like them the same amount, but for completely different reasons.
