iBrite App Turns Your iPad into a Lite Brite

iBrite iPad Lite Brite App Fills the Vintage Void

Prior to my NES obsession at age eight, it was all up to my Lite Brite to fill my time. These days, I get my kicks from small gadgets like my iPhone and an iPad, so of course I had to check out iBrite — the iPad app that works like a Lite Brite. Brings back memories, right? Well, after some investigation, it seems that although it doesn't bring the magic of the old peg-in-lightbox of the original, it will do for now.

iBrite lets you create works of art on your iPad, one faux peg at a time. It gives you a boatload of colors to choose from, and all you have to do is drag your finger across the screen to fill in the tiny LED dots. There are no patterns like you would have gotten with the real Lite Brite, and the only downside is that it doesn't really "glow" like the original did. Given that one cosmetic difference, it seems like this app could be a double threat — a time suck, and a time warp. Neither of which I'll say no to.
