It almost sounds like some kind of viral marketing campaign in favor of Apple, but according to a recent OK Cupid survey, iPhone users are having more sex than their BlackBerry- and Android-toting counterparts. In an official OK Cupid blog post, a graph titled "Sexual Activity by Smartphone Brand," a survey of nearly 10,000 30-year-old smartphone users showed that iPhone users are getting more action than BlackBerry or Android users.
Don't let the results deceive you, though. Find out why after the break.
The survey didn't look at the amount of sex that smartphone users were having, it looked at the number of partners they had. And that number for iPhone users was 10 for men and 12.3 for women. BlackBerry users came in second, with an average of 8.1 for men and 8.3 for women. And Android users? Both men and women averaged six apiece. A second graph shows that the trends continue as users get older; while all three groups show higher numbers as they age (as you would expect), the iPhone still comes out on top (no pun intended).
So, this doesn't mean that iPhone users are getting more action than other smartphone users; it just means they collectively have more partners than the others. I find it comical that female iPhone users are the highest ranked group in the survey — I guess geek is chic — and attractive!
