Something Blue: Doctor Who Wedding Inspiration

The premise of Doctor Who, with its sweeping adventures across time and space with one other trusted companion by your side, is the stuff of romantic, sci-fi legend. Taken with the Time Lord's exploits, photographer Candice Benjamin and cinematographer Kiera Faye created a wedding inspiration photo shoot with the sweet timey-wimey theme "Through All of Time and Space."

The shoot is perfectly Whovian without getting excessive, using TARDIS blue as the element that ties traditional wedding features to the universe of this sci-fi passion.

The Fourth Doctor scarf and River Song's journal make up the scenes in the vows ceremony.

The Doctors double as numbers for the 11 tables in art from Megan Stratam of Bunny Pirates.

Not any human can get a key to the big blue box that is the TARDIS. Guests are directed to seats with their own version of the police-box key, set against Who-themed paper goods.

A Whovian take on the bridal chairs is this "companion" and "sweetie" arrangement, a nod to River Song and the Doctor's many companions.

The bride's bouquet has an out-of-this-world feel with the careful placement of a few shimmering orbs, and the key represents the same one the Doctor gives to his companions before sweeping them into adventures on the TARDIS.

Fans of the 11th Doctor's escapades will love the Van Gogh cake.

The escort cards lead to the 11 Who-themed tables and are arranged next to modern star props, a subtle nod to the show's sci-fi themes.

With an observatory setting the scene, the couple is married by an officiant clad in a Fourth Doctor scarf.
