The Office [1] is for the fans this week. The episode brings back several familiar faces (Jan and Karen!) along with a reference from season two: "Threat Level Midnight." Back then, Pam found a screenplay Michael had been working on, and now the film is finally ready to view. The DIY [2] production stars Michael as "Michael Scarn," an agent who faces off against a villain named Goldenface (played by Jim Halpert in gold makeup) in order to save the NHL All-Star game. With some guidance from his personal sensei, Cherokee Jack (Creed), Scarn prepares to hit the ice, as a group of hostages (including Pam, Kevin, and Toby) await rescue.
The employees gather in the conference room for the movie's premiere, but when Holly doesn't rave about Michael's work, his bruised ego makes him lash out at his lady love. Then something surprising happens: Michael backs down. As he's watching the film without Holly by his side, he realizes just how ridiculous it is — and how silly he's being to punish Holly. He admits he's wrong, and the two reconcile. Could it be that Michael Scott is actually maturing?
The silly film makes for an entertaining episode, even if it doesn't exactly drive the show's story forward. But who cares? It's fun! Let's go over the best quotes when you read more.
