Ever since I was a little girl I knew I was destined for a life of ludophilia.

Born in Las Vegas into what you might call a "game night family," every weekend growing up featured a rotating cast of characters all huddled around the living room table playing Cranium, Clue, Scrabble, Scene It?, or Guess Who, to name just a sampling. My mother, a fierce competitor with a penchant for winning but zero hand-eye coordination, extolled the camaraderie and connection that came from her chosen sport. A little friendly competition brings people together, she'd say.

She's not wrong. There's simply no greater nexus for human connection than a good game night with friends, and nothing more nostalgic for me personally. It's why I've dedicated a not-insignificant amount of square footage in my tiny Brooklyn apartment for my own stash of playing cards and trivia, and the reason I couldn't be more excited to combine said niche hobby with my journalist day job as the host of Re:Play, the celebrity interview series you haven't seen yet.

Launching with our first episode on May 27, Re:Play is Popsugar's new nostalgia-soaked talk show where I invite your favorite stars to settle in, play throwback games, and share the stories they've never told anywhere else. In other words: my ideal Friday night.

Season one will be full of surprises, starting with a jam-packed lineup of guests like reality TV icon Ariana Madix, everybody's favorite heartthrob Stephen Colletti (with a surprise appearance from everybody's other favorite heartthrob, stay tuned on that), viral internet personality Taryn Delanie Smith [1], and so many more. I'll ask them about their own childhood memories, get the scoop on retro trends they're loving today, and go head-to-head on a handful of games — each with a nostalgic, feel-good twist. Some of my favorites include The Crush Draft, a snake-style draft with a rom-com spin, and Full Body Flashback [2], a five-senses game down memory lane of taste, smells, textures, visuals, and sounds. But that's just the tip of the iceberg.
