18 Year Old Gets Plastic Surgery to Feel Young Again 2010-06-11 11:10:01

A Teenager Gets Plastic Surgery to Feel "Young Again"

In more plastic surgery news, an 18-year-old Australian is having a tummy tuck, breast lift, and "designer vagina procedure" because she says that, after having a child at age 16, she feels "old and hopes to reclaim her youth."

The woman, Ambah Young, apparently borrowed $13,000 for the procedures. She's taking a vacation to Malaysia so she can have them done there cheaply. Cheap surgery doesn't sound like the best idea, and considering her own admission of low self-confidence, this doesn't seem like a formula for self-esteem success.

What do you think? Should Ambah's doctor have given her the go-ahead, or would she be better off in counseling?

Plastic Surgery is a personal choice ; we shouldn't judge her for what she feels will make her feel whole. It works Ultimate Applicator is a great alternative for plastic surgery with results that last 2 to 6 months and are used by celebrities from some last-minute slimming results before award shows. I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to improve one's body.. Its just we all go about it differently.

Yeah, I'm okay with the concept of plastic surgery but this girl seems pretty warped. You are 18 and you don't feel young?!? Hello, what are you going to do at 40 [and that doesn't even seem that old these days]? This is a little concerning. Also, this is your body and you're looking for knock off discount surgery? Not good. if you're going to do it, do your homework, find a great surgeon, and don't just go running to the cheapest fix. Silly, silly, silly. And I plan on having work done myself. I don't think I could rush into it like this though.

I don't think there's anything wrong with wanting to improve her body. She had a baby really young, and that obviously does dramatic changes to a women's body. Maybe she just wants to feel better about herself, I'm sure she's gone through a lot of hardships having a child so young. I don't think cheap surgery is a good idea though, it can have major consequences.

maybe regaining her youth was a bad explanation.. but having a baby young can have its toll. your body doesnt look the way it should and maybe thats what she wants. maybe its for her self confidence. and who are we to judge? everyone has at least one thing they'd want fixed. if i had the money id have a mommy makeover too. granted going to a diff country to get it done cheaper is a bit ridiculous. she should wait till she can afford a board certified surgeon because she prolly will end up needing more surgery to fixed a messed up surgery.

At 18 she is much too young for a "mommy makeover". What if she wants to have another child? And what youth is she recapturing at 18. Beside cheap plastic surgery is not a good idea, especially when it's cheap surgery she still can't afford. I think counseling would be a better idea right now, but eventually, when she's older and sure she's done have children, there is nothing wrong with a little plastic surgery.

Seriously, just to echo what everyone else said. Where are her parents? She needs serious counseling before anything else.

Better off in counseling. Wow I'm laughing at Venus right now. She says she's lost for words when a young is getting plastic surgery while HER profile picture is of a lady in her underwear. Now really, I'M lost for words.

Roma18, did you read the whole thing? She's only 18. She hasn't lived long enough to NEED surgery to reclaim her youth and sometimes when a person wants surgery, it really is therapy that they need. Also surgeons should have some responsibility in telling a patient who clearly needs therapy instead that they should not be getting surgery. That can't be reversed. And also things could always go very wrong during a surgery. I'm tired of being seeing the attitude that getting surgery is not a big deal and people can do as much as they want without giving it any thought just because it's their choice.

This is just wrong. Plastic surgery is fine but I don't think anyone should borrow money and then have it done cheaply. Anyone should have counseling before major plastic surgery. It will change your body not your image of your body.

Clearly this girl has some issues regarding her image but what saddens me is doesn't she have anyone to offer some healthy guidance. Where is her Mother?

I feel bad for this poor girl. I really wish someone would talk her out of it. And who in their right mind would give this child 13,000 dollars to go get "cheap" cosmetic surgery!?

Why of course!! Traveling to Malaysia for cheap plastic surgery sounds like a wonderful idea! Let's hope she doesn't come back looking like Mickey Rourke.
