Back of 2009 Fall New York Fashion Week: Rachel Roy Rachel Roy makes the kind of clothes that chic city girls want to wear, and her fall collection is no exception. While her color palette was more subdued this season than in the past, the clothes are an updated take on the '90s minimalist trend. No surprise, then, that the hair and makeup was equally sleek. Inspired by Linda Evangelista's ever-changing hair color, the Frédéric Fekkai styling team created bobs out of wigs. I thought they were so Bernice Bobs Her Hair — all '20s fullness — with a hint of Yves Saint Laurent. In fact, the recent black glossy lip trend originated with YSL, and though it's nothing I've seen in real life, it continues to dominate on the runways. I'll skip the lip, but for the hair, the Fekkai team used Fekkai Coiff Contrôle Ironless Straightening Balm. I use this all of the time (applied to damp hair, it is a frizz destroyer) and love seeing it on the runway, too.
