Queens deserve the best, right? So it should come as no surprise that Angela Bassett was decked out in Pat McGrath Labs for her appearance at the 2018 Emmys.
Makeup artist D'Andre Michael [1] painted Bassett with a variety of Pat McGrath Labs products. Michael explained that his inspiration for "Miss Angela" was the classic elegance of Old Hollywood, "taking a note from Pat McGrath's Max Factor era." (McGrath is the global creative design director for Max Factor, an international brand, and has been since 2004.) Here's a breakdown of everything Michael used on Miss Bassett (if ya nasty).
The Shadows
For the eyes, he used the Mothership V: Bronze Ambition Palette [2] ($125) and used Entrapment, a burnt sienna shade, as a base on the entire lid. He then went in with Disobedient, a matte oak brown, on the crease. He added Xtreme Aubergine for drama along the crease and blended it out.

Michael also used Mthrshp Sublime Bronze Ambition Palette [3] ($55), starting with the shade Illicit, a deep chocolate shimmer, in the center of the lid.
The Liquid Liner
He lined Bassett's eyes with Perma Precision Liquid Eyeliner [4] ($28), one of our personal favorites.
The Gel Liner
Michael then added a touch of color with the Permagel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil in Blitz Blue [5] ($25) on the bottom lid. He smoked it out by going back in with the shadow shade Disobedient along the lower lash line, blending it into Xtreme Aubergine.
The Highlight
Bassett's skin doesn't need much to glow, but of course Michael used Skin Fetish 003: Highlighter + Balm Duo in Bronze [6] ($48) — another must have. He applied it along the cheeks and down the bridge of her nose.
The Lip Liner
For the lips, he lined first with Permagel Ultra Lip Pencil in Manhattan [7] ($25).
The Lipstick
Then, Michael finished by swiping Mattetrance Lipstick in Flesh 5 [8] ($38) across her lips.
