Beauty Mark It! An Eye-Popping Brightener

Do you ever watch makeovers on What Not To Wear? Loyal fans will know that makeup artist Carmindy continually touts the importance of an eye brightener to conceal and lighten up the appearance of darkness around the eyes. Naturally, I've been a firm believer of her theory, but lately, the brand I've been using just doesn't seem to work as well as it used to for my skin.

While browsing over the long weekend, I became overwhelmed by all of the choices. I found a few potential winners, but after applying layer after layer of brighteners, the effect was more sunglasses tan and I was starting to get kinda dizzy.

I'll get you started with Benefit's Eye Bright ($20), "a pop of pink that brightens your eyes and your spirits instantaneously." I liked the buildable, creamy texture — and the color hid my dark spots nicely.

Share your choices by bookmarking items from around the web and tagging them with the phrase Eye Popping Brighteners. I'll feature your favorites here next Tuesday. I love Eye Bright. I wear it inside my bottom lash line and on the inner corners of my eyes every day. It's really helpful on the inner corners when I'm trying to do a grey smoky eye, which sometimes makes me look sickly and old.

Oh, that's exactly what I wanted to hear, sundaygreen. Sephora doesn't even sell High Brow online which is strange, so a multi-purpose product like this is great. I think I am going to get it online today- thanks! :)

Sofi I use eye bright to highlight just under my eyebrow (very subtle) - I couldn't justify buying the high brow when eye bright does just as good a job (IMO).

Oooh, I was curious about this. I was looking at High Brow but this seems more versatile and maybe can replace High Brow? Anyone have any thoughts about both of them- interchangeable/comparable or not? Bella, you'll have to show us how to apply it as well so it doesn't look like I have sunglass tan :)

I just eye bright, but ONLY on the corners of my eyes. I find that if I use it all the way around it makes my eyes look washed out and tired.

Another Eye Bright fan here. Do NOT confuse this one with Benefit's Lying Eyes. I really didn't like Lying Eyes at all (it has a brush tip and then something that looks like foundation gushes out when you turn the end of it -- one of Benefit's rare misses, in my opinion), but Eye Bright is something I use every day. Great for brow bones and inside corners of eyes especially.

While I usually can't stand Carmindy, I definitely share her (and your) love for eye brighteners! I also use Benefit's Eye Bright.
