Beauty Mark It Reminder! Old Hollywood for Homecoming

Just wanted to remind you of this week's Beauty Mark It challenge. TeamSugar member Omgitseduarda e-mailed me with this question:

My homecoming is coming up, and the theme is Old Hollywood. I figured I had to had red lips and smoky eyes, but do you happen to have any other suggestions that would help with my Old Hollywood look? I'm getting some soft curls done to my hair rather than having it straight.

I love the idea to have soft curls, which will look gorgeous. I suggested keeping the red lip but doing a lighter eye with a champagne shadow. (Red lips plus smoky eye could be overpowering.) But I'm sure everyone here has ideas, too. Help Omgitseduarda channel classic beauties such as Veronica Lake, Lauren Bacall and Katharine Hepburn by sharing your suggestions for creating an Old Hollywood look. You can share your favorites by tagging your choices with the phrase "Hollywood homecoming." I'll feature the readers' favorites on BellaSugar next Tuesday, October 30.

Check out my beauty mark ( I used the tutorial to do my makeup for a Halloween party where I was a 1920's flapper. I think this look would work well for the Hollywood homecoming too. Here's a link to my finished look ( Basically you do some seriously dark eyes, cupid's bow lips, extend your brows and add a little color just to the apples of the cheeks. Plus you wear a lighter shade of foundation and powder than normal since the look back then was a lot paler.

Oooo, I love the idea of shimmering champagne shadow or even a soft white with berry red or true red lips. It's beautiful and not complicated, so I think that works for us all. Maybe she could go with just liquid liner on the top and some fake lashes. Softest color blush just to keep a little color in the cheeks. I'd go with a very light mocha pink with some beige in it. So it doesn't compete with those bold lips. She could also go with a shade of pink lipstick, but I'd make it lipstick and never gloss for the retro looks.
