Beauty Mark It! A Shining Shampoo

I recently confessed that I haven't yet found a shampoo that delivers the shimmering shine that is ubiquitously displayed in every hair commercial on television. I did, however, find the next best thing: Shu Uemura's Satin Design styling lotion. I love it so much that it's now a part of my blow-drying routine. But on those days when time is of the essence, I would love to pack all of that shine into a shampoo.

So for this week's Beauty Mark It challenge, I'm soliciting your help. What's your favorite shine shampoo? I'll start you off with Lush's Ultimate Shine solid shampoo. I haven't tried it yet, but if it lives up to its name, I may have found a winner. Do you have a favorite?

Share your choices by bookmarking items from around the web and tagging them with the phrase Shine Shampoo. I'll feature your favorites here next Tuesday.

I used to really like The Body Shop's tangerine beer shampoo, but I don't think they do it anymore. The thing that makes my hair shine the most is using semi-permanent hair colour. I know it's probably not great in the long run, but the conditioner you get with it is usually great and doesn't flatten my hair.

I hated Pantene Ice Shine! It made my hair extra dry and also left a weird waxy residue. I have very thin hair so I am always more worried about preventing it from being weighed down and dried out than being extra shiny.

I love Ojon Shine and Protect Shampoo! It's great. There's no dimethicone. I can really tell a major difference when I use it!

I'm curious about the vinegar thing some people mentioned - does it not dry hair a bit, is it safe to use on normal hair? Now I really want to try it! :P

I'm feeling kinda low-tech this morning, otherwise I would have bookmarked my favorite, hands down, all-time greatest shine shampoo for you. Instead, here's a link: Used with the hair mask, it is truly amazing, but it works wonders on its own as well.

A clarifying shampoo may add shine, but only if your hair isn't colored and/or dry (otherwise, it will strip the color and moisture, making her even duller). Any product with silicone will create a glossy finish (beware, they will cause buildup over time if your shampoo is too gentle to combat them). The hair featured in shampoo/product ads is created with the miracle of skilled stylists and styling products. Although a shampoo can create loads of volume!

I like Lush's BIG shampoo. It takes all that build-up out of your hair and leaves it squeaky clean and shiny!

The Blonde from Lush is good. Their Buddha Bar was fantastic but they don't make it anymore.

That's another thing that bugs me. The build up. I think I read recently that it comes from all the silicones put in the product and I forgot to mention that I don't actually care if the Lush shampoo leaves the hair super shiny or not. I just want to get away from products that have things like silicones and other bad things in them and I read that it lasts a long time (5 bottles worth) but I don't know if that's an exaggeration. I also like that with it I would be making less waste since it doesn't use packaging.

Though I haven't used this Lush product, I am one of their biggest fans. The shampoo bar, The Blonde, is the bomb! If you are a natural blonde that would like to be a bit lighter, it really does help add some extra brightness to your color. I definitely recommend it. I partner this product with their Marilyn leave in product.

Apple cider vinegar rise after shampooing. No build up, residue, and there's no smell after rinsing.

You can't find a good shampoo that gives your hair that shine because the ones that do just put a bunch of junk on your hair (build up). Good shampoo's don't build up.

Graham Webb Stick Straight shamp/condish duo, Tosca Shine Detangling Conditioner, and the Barex Gloss line work for me. The Tosca is my favorite, with Barex coming in a close second. Also, diluted apple cider vinegar spritzed on after shampooing and before conditioning gives amazing results.

I have Lush's solid shampoo and its good...not great. I mean I don't use it everyday, only when I know I'm blow-drying and flat-ironing. But, I like it!

Thanks for posting this since I was wondering about this myself. I actually decided just yesterday that I wanted to check out Lush hair products but I have no idea which one would be best for my hair type.
