Best of 2007: Acne Fighter

One of my New Year's resolutions is to stop obsessing over the flaws in my skin. I've already admitted to excessive picking and taking photographs of my pores, and now it's time to choose a spot treatment, stick with it and walk away from the mirror!

I know that everybody has a pimple product of choice. Personally, I like when they sting a little bit so I know it's really taking action. Vote below to share your favorite acne fighter. If it's not one of the options listed, share your fave in a comment.

Benefit WOOSH. Best thing I've ever tried. Harsh enough to get rid of acne, but mild enough to not damage skin.

Just wanted to comment on Tea Tree Oil. It works for Everything and you can pick up a bottle at Walmart for around $5.00 It will last you like the entire year. You only need a little on the end of a Q-tip swab.p.s Really takes the itch out of a Mosquito or Flea bite!

I think the best thing to do is to go to the dermatologist if your skin problems are that much of a nuisance.

I have adult acne (I'm 26) and have tried everything perscription other than accutane. Nothing worked for me :(. I tried the Neutrogena acne kit and it turned my skin bright red and made it peel and flake. Proactiv does the same thing. My mom bought me Arbonne's acne line and I"m going to start it next week (I'm waiting because supposedly you break out even worse for a week before clearing up and I want to look pretty for New Years). I don't have insurance so I can't get accutane! Lame.

GO to your Dermotologist if you have zits, that's the only thing that really has ever worked, and i've tried most of them.

Proactive Refining Cream is great. Smells a little sulfur-y but works nonetheless

I usually get cystic acne around my chin area, so topical treatments don't work very well. But, when I do get whiteheads, I use Origens, and I have been for years!

Besides washing my face with Dove Soap (yes, the bar) and my moisturizing lotion, I only put items suggested by my doctor on my skin (which 99% of the time is prescribed creams)... AND, I've never had better skin!

I don't use anything aside from my cleanser and toner. I know my cleanser has witch hazel in it, which I think fights acne but that's it.

i use the neutrogena spot remover. I also liked the mask that comes in the proactive kits, just put a dab on and leave it overnight. Oh and to those two other reacurring chin pimple ladies, i think we could start a club. It's SO frustrating.

The Body Shop's Tea Tree line has done me well for the past couple years! Weekly with the exfoliator and twice a day with the cleanser and once a day with the toner (don't use the moisturizer though because I don't think it smells too pleasant!). And when a blemish gets through my line of defense (which typically happens once every 1-3 months), I immediately treat it with an ionic mask.

i used to use the origins product and liked it... i tend to think these spot treatments don't generally work.

Tea tree oil is definitely the way to go - it ALWAYS works for me, even though salicylic acid and benzoyl peroxide don't really do much other than irritate my skin, and sulfur is only effective if I haven't used it for a while. I've been using nothing but tea tree oil for the past 6 months or so, and my skin has been incredibly clear...
MAKE YOUR OWN! Make a paste of corn starch and lemon juice. Dab slightly on the affected area. This works great for me. I'm 50 years old and have tackled skin problems all my life. When I get a pimple now it is usually the cyst type that can last for weeks under the skin. It's not pretty when applied but it really cuts down the swelling and redness. Cheap option. Give it a try!
