In an unprecedented move, Beyoncé stepped out early on the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards. Even better, she had Blue Ivy in tow [1]! The two sported matching mommy-and-me braids: Blue Ivy in cornrow [2] pigtails and Bey with a cornrow that crossed over the crown then cascaded into a single plait down her back.

Beyoncé accented her blond braid with truly luminous makeup. Shimmering bronze eye shadow was accented with a bold, matte black cat eye [3], framed by a strong, brushed-up brow.
