Every Chanel Makeup Product Used to Create Brie Larson's Glowing Look

Jan 11 2016 - 11:00am

How many times have you sat in a makeup chair and asked your artist for a "natural makeup look" only to end up with a moody, smoky eye and bold lip? At the 2016 Golden Globe Awards [1], celebrity makeup artist Rachel Goodwin nailed the golden glow on Brie Larson using Chanel products.

"For Brie's look, I was going for really natural, healthy, glowing beauty," Goodwin said. "She was wearing the most amazing gold dress, and I wanted her to radiate. I focused on radiant skin with a bronzy glow: elegant but not overdone. Cybill Shepherd and Jessica Lange in the '70s were two of my inspirations; I love that subtle glamour."

We're loving this beautiful monochromatic yet not-boring combination of colors, so we got the full breakdown from Goodwin. Keep reading for tips on how to DIY [2] it!

Skin Care Prep

"I always start with a really basic skin care prep," Goodwin explained. "I used Chanel La Solution 10 de Chanel Sensitive Skin Cream [3]. It's really simple and absorbs into skin quickly. Everything looks beautiful on top of it."

Face

"To warm up the complexion, I applied Chanel Perfection Lumière Long-Wear Flawless Fluid Sunscreen Makeup Broad Spectrum SPF 15 [5] in 50 Beige, then bronzed and slightly sculpted the cheeks with Soleil Tan de Chanel Bronzing Makeup Base [6]," Goodwin said. "I added a hint of highlight under the eyes with Soleil Tan de Chanel Sheer Illuminating Fluid [7]."

Eyes

"To accentuate Brie's lashes, I used a fine line of Chanel Écriture de Chanel Eyeliner Pen in Noir [8] and applied Le Volume de Chanel Waterproof Mascara in Noir [9]," Goodwin noted. "Right at the end, I added Illusion d'Ombre Long Wear Luminous Eyeshadow in Convoitise [10] so that when she looked down, you'd see just a peekaboo of gold shadow."

Eyebrows

To fill in Brie's brows, Goodwin used Chanel Crayon Sourcils Sculpting Eyebrow in Blond Clair [11].

Lips

"I wanted Brie's lips to look really natural, so I kept the shade simple. Chanel Rouge Coco Stylo Complete Care Lipshine in Script [12] gave just a hint of pink."
