10 Celebrity Couples Who Have Gotten Matching Tattoos

Oct 23 2020 - 11:20am

Some people would assume that the ultimate way for a couple to show their commitment to each other is to get married. But there are plenty of couples out there — especially celebrity couples — who like to make their relationships official in other ways, like getting matching tattoos [1].

We can think of a handful of celebrity couples who have taken their relationships to the next level by getting either matching ink [2] or tattoos that symbolize their love of the other person. From Justin and Hailey Bieber to Steph and Ayesha Curry, read ahead to see the tattoos that some of your favorite celebrity couples have gotten to honor their relationships.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott

Shortly after they began dating, Travis Scott and Kylie Jenner got matching butterfly tattoos, courtesy of LA-based tattoo artist to the stars, JonBoy. Jenner briefly opened up about their matching tats in a video recently shared to her YouTube channel, in which she reflected on a few of her most iconic Halloween [3] costumes — including the butterfly costume she wore with their daughter, Stormi Webster, in 2018.

"When Travis and I first got together, we got matching little butterfly tattoos," she explained. "So a butterfly is just a symbol of our relationship and Stormi, so it was really special to do the butterfly costume."

Chrissy Teigen and John Legend

In 2019, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend [4] got matching tattoos of their own names as well as the names of their two children Miles and Luna Stephens on their right arms. The model and cookbook author revealed the tattoos in a funny Instagram post. "Hey guys please don't talk to us unless u have tattoos we are a cool tattoo family now and we only want to talk to other tattoo families," she wrote. The tattoos were drawn by Daniel Winter [5].

Kylie Jenner and Anastasia Karanikolaou

OK, so Kylie Jenner and her BFF Anastasia Karanikolaou — aka Stassiebaby — aren't actually a couple, but they're so close to each other that we see them as a package duo anyway. Last year, the best friends got matching "Stormi" tattoos right above their elbows.

Steph and Ayesha Curry

Ayesha Curry got a tattoo of a greater than, less than symbol on her forearm, which she revealed via Instagram that her husband, Stephen Curry, copied in 2014. The two explained in an interview with Parents a few years later that the tattoo symbolizes staying present.

"It signifies that the past is behind us and the future isn't promised, so we stay right in the middle," the NBA player said.

Steph and Ayesha Curry

In 2019, the Currys got a second set of tattoos — a wolf, a butterfly, and a horse — that symbolize all three of their children, Riley, Canon, and Ryan. According to an Instagram caption shared by Ayesha, the couple assigned each of their children a sign, likely based on their personalities.

"Canon will always be our young wolf. Ryan our butterfly (this one makes me cry with joy just thinking about it) and Riley our horse (free spirited, which we turned into a unicorn because she's our magical first born)," she wrote. The couple went to Daniel Winter for the ink.

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas

Shortly before getting married last year, Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas [6] got Buzz Lightyear's famous quote from Toy Story, "To infinity and beyond," tattooed on their wrists. They also have matching tattoos of their first initials.

Justin and Hailey Bieber

Hailey Bieber has a lot of tattoos [7], but one of her most recent ones is a "J" that she got etched onto her ring finger for her husband, Justin Bieber [8].

Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande

Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande [9] got several tattoos showing off their love for each other during their five-month relationship. Less than a week after announcing they were dating, Davidson got the singer's iconic bunny ears tattooed behind his ear, as well as her initials.

Grande, on the other hand, got the badge number 8418 tattooed on her foot [10] in July 2018 to honor Davidson's father, a firefighter who was killed on 9/11. The former couple also got matching tattoos, including tiny clouds on their fingers and "H2GKMO" (an acronym for "Honest to God Knock Me Out") on their hands.

After their breakup, Davidson revealed that he had been in the process of covering up a few of the tattoos [11] that symbolized their relationship.

Kylie Jenner and Tyga

While they were dating, Jenner got a small "T" for Tyga tattoo on her ankle. After calling it quits, she had it transformed into a cursive "LA" tattoo [12].

David and Victoria Beckham

David Beckham [13] has "Victoria" inked onto his right hand in an elegant, old time-y font, along with the number "99" on his right pinky, which symbolizes the year the two tied the knot.

David and Victoria Beckham

Beckham has a back tattoo that she received during her sixth wedding anniversary to the soccer player. It says "Ani l'dodi li va'ani lo haroeh bashoshanim," which translates to "I am my beloved's and my beloved is mine."

David and Victoria Beckham

The former Spice Girl also has the initials "DB" on her left wrist.

Katy Perry and Russell Brand

During their short-lived marriage, Katy Perry [14] and Russell Brand [15] each got matching Sanskrit tattoos that translate to "go with the flow." The good news is that the tattoo still works even after their split.

Beyoncé and JAY-Z

Beyoncé and JAY-Z have matching tattoos of the roman numeral IV. This represents both of their birthdays and the day they got hitched.

Noah Cyrus and Tanner Drayton

Cyrus and Drayton got five stars — four of which are filled in, with the last one only an outline — inked on their forearms by tattooist JonBoy [16]. The meaning has to be yet confirmed, but fans have theorized that the design may be linked to the Arctic Monkeys song "Four Out of Five."
