Chipped Red Nail Polish Is the Hottest New Look

My Chipped Nails Are So Fashionable, You Guys

Just when I thought the hellacious polish job I've got right now from multiple rounds of testing and at-home Minx foiling was something I should fix, I find out that my "look" is the hot new thing in the UK. Apparently British Vogue and Elle editors have been spotted wearing intentionally chipped red polish recently, and salons there even offer chipped manicures. (You could also just do your nails and then, you know, wait). This isn't the first time imperfect polish has been hyped as a trend, but maybe this time it'll take off. What do you think, though? Is this still a fashion faux pas, or am I ahead of the trend?

it worked for ripped jeans and paint splatter shirts and everything is 80's now but it depends on the occasion and outfit

I can't remember exactly what magazine it was because it was many years ago, but I remember an article where they were trying to inform the reader on HOW to make your nail polish chip (because apparently it was the new 'in' thing). I thought it was totally ridiculous. When you do dishes everyday and scrub toilets and countertops everyday, having a manicure that lasts through it all is a precious thing!

I think it looks awful. When my polish begins to chip, I just remove it. I'd rather have bare nails.

I don't mind the chipped look if it's black polish. I'm not sure why, I guess there's something rock n roll about it.

As much as I would love for this to really be a trend, I can't really believe it will stick.

this is reminiscent of that story in Vogue which said growing out and showing your roots was fashionable. am i the only one who thinks this is kind of ridiculous?
