After starring in Friends and Cougar Town, Courteney Cox has stepped into a different kind of role: the face of the Pantene Expert Collection. The line of anti-aging hair products will hit stores this November, along with a new ad campaign featuring Courteney. Find out her one makeup obsession, her postacting career plans, and the products that fill her vanity when you keep reading.
On her eyelash obsession:
If there is one beauty tool Courteney uses every day, it's an eyelash curler. (Shiseido's version is her favorite). "I recently got my eyelashes permed," she said. "It lasts about six weeks, and it was just such a great time-saver. Between Latisse, curling them, and dyeing them, I was set." She finishes off her lashes with her go-to Edward Bess mascara ($30).
On her must-have products:
"I think cleaning your skin and moisturizing is the best beauty tip you could have," Courteney explains. She relies on celebrity facialist Mila Moursi and a Clarisonic brush to keep her glowing for the cameras. As far as her off-set makeup routine, she keeps it simple with a pink sheer lipstick, Stila blush, Laura Mercier concealer, and her new staple, Too Faced beauty balm ($32).
On her hair dreams:
Like many women before her, Courteney endured the '80s rite of passage: a bad perm. "I always wanted curly hair, and I don't have it," she admits. "The perm used to turn a weird red in my hair and make it frizzy. So nothing was right about it." Now, she sticks to a simple scrunch-and-go philosophy for her hair.
On the best advice she's gotten (and given):
When it comes to life lessons, Courteney tries pass a few along to her daughter, Coco. "Spend less time worrying about what other people think. Try to be kind to others, but don't be a people-pleaser," she advises. "Really focus on the people in your core group instead of spreading yourself too thin."
On her next steps:
"I'm definitely going to be heading more into directing," she says. "I direct Cougar Town sometimes, and I did a film for Lifetime called Tall Hot Blonde. It's perfect for my personality, because I'm very detail-oriented and visual. I like to do real human stories, anything grounded in reality."
