Is Maybelline Launching a Wonder Woman Makeup Collection?

Cover Girl Is Most Popular Makeup Brand

The Best-Loved Makeup Brand Might Surprise You

If you're a huge fan of LashBlast mascara, this shouldn't surprise you: In a poll of 5,000 women, Cover Girl came out on top, with 14 percent of women reporting it their favorite brand. The women polled said they preferred Cover Girl mainly because it was a good value, and they trust the name. Clinique came in a close second at 10 percent, followed, interestingly, by Mary Kay and Maybelline.

What was most interesting about the study, though, is that it found women who wear very little makeup are more brand loyal than beauty junkies. Basically, if you love makeup, instead of becoming addicted to one brand, you're more likely to find something you like in any line. But if you consider yourself a makeup "minimalist" or "everyday woman," you'll probably buy a disproportionate amount of your makeup from the same brand. What's your reaction to this study? Do you think it pretty accurately describes your buying habits and favorite brands, or is it way off base?

i am a total beauty junkie. I research every product before i buy it even if its a 3 dollar lipstick. But I do feel a large sense of brand loyalty. My face routine(foundation, concealer, etc.) is almost always exclusively cover girl products with the exception of my primer. So while I have many brands in my collection I usually go back to cover girl.

I love CG multiplying mascara. Cover Girl is the only drugstore brand I have tried that hasn't irritated my super sensitive skin. I'm not really a Clinique girl though. My Clinique"makeover" makeup stayed on through a ten minute shower and my first step of face washing. I guess some people would think that's a good thing but I prefer lighter more easily removable makeup.

i think this is pretty accurate of my makeup habits. i like covergirl lashblast and maybelline's ful'n'soft, but i don't buy alot of drugstore makeup since i can't try it before. i love to play with makeup, and i'm not loyal to one particular brand. i really like laura mercier (tinted moisturizer, concealer, mineral makeup), tarte cheerkstains, bobbi brown bronzer, trish mcevoy's planner and eye shadows, nars lipstick, and multiples...whew. but i'm alot like whatwouldruth in that i could play in sephora all day, but i really wear minimal makeup. blush, concealer, and moisturizer most days.

I am faithful to CG LashBlast (only because Max Factor is gone and I can't use 2000 Calorie Extreme anymore). Other than that, I have a couple of favorite brands as well as a couple of brands I tend to hate. I try stuff all over the spectrum, but then again, I am a bit of a makeup junkie ;)

cover girl and clinique are my two favorite brands. i use clinique concealer, foundation, powder etc. and a lot of cover girl eyeshadows, blushes, and liners. i guess i represent the makeup tastes of the american woman quite well =)

I do use Cover Girl mascara, but I don't use any of their other products. To be honest I won't buy drugstore foundation or powder because I can never find the right color or type of product. I'm kind of an odd duck in that I adore makeup and have to resist buying anything & everything, but I wear it minimally. I tend to try to find the very best item that offers the best value in each category. I'm definitely not brand loyal.
