Sometimes it's hard to pick just one color, so why not play with three complementing polishes in a geometric design? For this angled manicure, I went with two shades of purple: Deborah Lippmann Between the Sheets ($16) and MAC Nail Lacquer in Blue Gaze ($16). First, I started off with two coats of the lighter purple shade all over my nails. Once that layer was completely dry, I went back and created varying diagonal shapes all over my nails using tape and the darker purple shade. Here's what the colorblocked results looked like:
The two-toned look is also a fun look to try on its own, but I wanted to add a third metallic polish as an accent. Once the second layer was dry, I went back and applied tape to my nails to form sections that I wanted to enhance with shimmer. A high-shine top coat finished off the style.
