The following post was written by Lynn S. of Makeup With Tea and is part of POPSUGAR Select Beauty. Winter is here, and that means dealing with the dry, frigid season. But don't let the Winter frost ruin your holidays! This easy DIY face scrub will give you back your healthy summer glow, while also giving you an aromatic pampering session. This recipe uses a coconut oil and sugar base to help ensure your skin is well moisturized. However, the key ingredient to this face scrub is the fragrant rose water, which is rich in antioxidants and helps increase cell turnover. Read on to see how to make this scrub yourself! Things You'll Need: 2 tablespoons coconut oil 1/2 tablespoon honey 1 tablespoon rose water 2 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar 1 small jar Dried roses, optional 1-2 drops rose essential oil, optional Instructions: 1. In a small bowl, melt coconut oil using a water bath or stove. (Water bath is preferred so as not to burn the coconut oil.) When melted, add the rose water and honey. Continue to mix until you have an almost uniform color. 2. When you have an almost uniform color, continue mixing until the mixture has cooled a bit. Once cooled, slowly add the sugar while continuing to mix. You should come out with a grainy, soft, pasty formula. 3. Optional: Add a few drops of rose tea essential oil. Continue mixing. 4. Optional: Take a dried rose and steep for a few seconds in a hot water. Once the rose has softened, crumble the pieces on top of the mixture. The rose petals give the mixture an extra scrubbing factor. Makes 2 1/2 ounces. Good for two weeks.
