Do You Swipe Hotel Toiletries?

I've been a very busy Bella lately, racking up frequent-flier miles and crashing at a hotel or two. One of the perks of staying somewhere new is trying out different brands of bath goods. Since I try to be ecologically conscious, I take the half-used bottles of shampoo and lotion home with me for use on a future trip. Better to not waste anything, I say. Are you a shampoo swiper, too, or do you leave toiletries in the hotel?

I take and keep them is they are nice. If they are just regular products I take them and have been saving them to donate to the local shelter to use.

Love the Penhaligons at the Intercontinental and the shower gel at the Loews in Miami, Bloom I think. Just wish they sold the stuff, but it is made exclusively for the Loews!

you betcha! But like everyone else said, only if they're good. My Mom loves Crabtree and Evelyn and the Hilton hotels usually have those - so I take them for her.
Yea I take them. What would they do with them otherwise. LOL

I only take them if I've used them, because I figure if I don't, they'll toss them out when they clean the room.

I take the good stuff when I have room. They are great for the guest bathroom and future travels to cheap(er) hotels.

I take them when they are good brands. It's nice to have small bottles for when your out-of-town guests forget their shampoo and whatnot.

I do when they're good, but that's rare.

Of course, you want to get your moneys worth! Especially if it's five star! When I was in Dubai, the products were soooo nice I took them practically every other day! c4rolin3-I was thinking of that episode whilst reading the article!

this totally reminds me of the Friends episode where Ross and Chandler go to that hotel in Vermont. :) Ross: No, Chandler, you have to find the line between stealing and taking what the hotel owes you. Um, for example, hair dryer, no, no, no. Shampoos and conditioners, ah, yes, yes, yes. Now, the salt shaker is off limits, but the salt... The toiletries are there for you to use and included in the price!!! But if they were rubbish products... I'd happily leave them as I wouldn't necessarily use them in the first place ♥

If it's a decent product I will. After all I am paying for it. I don't travel at all anyways sadly so haven't had the chance to.

Not really, unless they have a very nice body butter or hand lotion.

I always bring my own cosmetics anyway and usually leave their stuff unopened. As a student I have never been to a fancy enough hotel to have anything worth taking, anyway!

Yes! That's what they're there for! I got the most amazing Quince body lotion from a random hotel outside of Chicago last year. I keep meaning to look up the company online and get some more. The hotel's size is perfect and fits nicely into my quart sized bag (and still does! My clear Marc by Marc Jacobs cosmetics bag is a quart and I use it everyday and on all trips)

I don't swipe, I take what is mine as part of my payment to stay in that room ;) I went to Mexico with my bf last fall and they gave us small bottles of Biosilk conditioners, and full size bottle of Biosilk body lotion and shampoo. I loved it (now a huge fan of Biosilk). I just can't find that biosilk lotion for the life of me and I'm totally in love with it.

Of course.. but only the good stuff! My company's market is luxury high-end hotels and resorts so I get some really nice products. But it can pile up, so at the end of the year I go through it all and take what i'm not useing to a homeless or women's shelter. They can always use it.

i recently went on a two-week trip to a nice hotel and i swiped the toiletries every couple days and ended up coming home with mouthwash, shampoo, body butter, shower caps, loofahs, Qtips, and nail files for my travel bag....i take lots of weekend trips and spend time camping so they're perfect

i do sometimes if i really like it. sometimes the hotels provide vaseline or jergens lotion, and i always stash a little lotion bottle everywhere so i grab those.

it depends on how much room i have in my alloted "1quart bag"....usually i don't have enough room to bring anything else back....and we didn't bring back any of the Bvlgari toiletries they provided for our honeymoon....

Sometimes I nick soap if I'm not allergic to it, and showercaps. I always nick the showercaps. :D

Yes I do. But it's not swiping ,it is for you to use and take. Now toils and bath robes are a no,no.

Some hotels have nice ones, others do not. I take them anyway, depending on the situation. I save things in a memory box! So, if I went to a hotel on an important occasion, or a nice vacation or something, I'll take some to remind me, and save it in my box. I don't travel nearly enough to save, and then use elsewhere while traveling.
