Do You Use Hot Rollers?

The other day, while finally cleaning out my closet, I discovered many things about my style over the past few years. Some of them questionable — is pleather ever really a good idea? — and one of them being that my barely used, decade-old set of hot rollers could use a little love. I'm not sure why it's been so long since I've busted out this reliable old-school styling tool, but maybe I should. They are, after all, amazing for creating lots of volume and twisted textures, and you can't beat flattering curls with minimal effort. Tell us: Do you use hot rollers, and if so, what are some of your favorite techniques?

Can anyone reco a great set of hot rollers? My Conair brand rollers are terrible- don't get hot enough, curl doesn't hold for more than 2 hours, awful clips. Boo!

Noo way! I can't help but think that intentionally burning my hair - if only a little bit - is not a very good thing.

Sometimes I use my mums but the curls just fall right out (I have dead straight hair), so if I want to go curly I have to use the iron.

i use a remmington hot roller set, set them in my hair for 15 min in the morning (while i get dressed and do makeup) and i get super tight springy curls. i just brush them out a bit and they hold all day. no hairspray, nothing!

Every single day.

No, I have naturally wavy hair, and the curlers kind of mess that up. Although it would be nice to have a set to add some volume on top.

Sometimes, when I have time in the morning. (I actually have the set pictured.) I can't roll my hair and night, like blondeyy suggested, because I get really warm while I'm sleeping and I have to shower in the morning.

Too much fuss, I just twirl my hair while it's drying and it sticks in nice spirally waves... I couldn't bother rolling it up.

No, but my mom does every day. I've tried to use them and the effect never lasts. My hair is meant to either be straight or just a bit wavy, nothing crazier than that.

I had a set but it didn't do anything for me.

Absolutely! I have a set that are all the same size, big! I think most people don't realize that there are different size sets that can give you a modern look, not just the standard with the various sizes.

I could not function without hot rollers. They are undoubtedly my number one most used hair styling tool.

***TIME SAVING TIP: Better than hot rollers.. Apply styling product to your freshly washed hair. Brush all hair up onto the top of your head (bending at the waist) secure with a scrunchie. Take small sections and roll each section with a regular curler until all sections have been rolled and are on top of your head. (You need to use a scrunchie rather than a rubber band so you don't get a dent in your hair). You can sleep this way as you won't feel the rollers on top of your head - wake up in the morning, remove rollers and brush out or just finger tousle - SAVES A LOT OF TIME IN THE A.M.! :encore:

Thank God for hot rollers! We used to roll our hair in pop cans on top of our head in high school.
