How to Keep Fenty's Lip Stunna From Staining Your Teeth, According to Rihanna's MUA

The first time I tried Fenty Beauty's Lip Stunna was when the entire POPSUGAR beauty team tested the universally-flattering red paint [1] on our fine selves. We only had one sample for the whole gang, so for hygiene's sake [2] we each applied it via individual, small lip brush testers (not the actual applicator). Due to the applicator's mini size, I could only swipe on just a bit of the stuff. (Still looked great, though — insert hair flip here).

Nevertheless, I was so impressed with how Lip Stunna lasted through a spaghetti dinner [3] that I woke up early on Thanksgiving to purchase one for myself. With a Lip Stunna all to myself, I gladly slathered it all over my lips. And that's when it happened. The formula began to bleed a lot, making my teeth look as if I'd just gargled red wine.

While the color looks so damn good on the lips, the one complaint I kept hearing was how it has the tendency to transfer. Rest assured Fenty fans, Priscilla Ono has a hack for you. In a YouTube tutorial uploaded to the brand's channel [5], the official Fenty makeup artist revealed her hack for ensuring Lip Stunna stays on, you know, your lips.

First, Priscilla began by clarifying what the product exactly is. "Lip Stunna is not a matte lipstick, it is actually just a liquid lipstick," she said. "It's supposed to feel very comfortable and non-drying on the lip, so you have a beautiful texture."

What's more, the color is "very pigmented, so you only need a little bit, and it goes a long way." Her professional opinion? "Try to avoid layering the lipstick, that will make it transfer less."

Let's raise a (non-lipstick stained) glass to flawless red lipstick!
