Easy Smoky Eye Makeup

The Secret to Getting the Fastest Smoky Eye Ever

For Lea Michele's makeup look at the recent Academy of Television Arts and Sciences' screening of Glee, celebrity makeup artist Melanie Inglessis was able to create a beautiful palette in minutes. "We had very little time to do this look, so I worked fast and with my favorite product to do a smoky eye: the fat kohl pencils," she explained. See the exact brand and shade used, along with tips for getting the rest of the quick and easy style, when you keep reading.

Inglessis began by applying Laura Mercier's Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Smoke ($24) to Lea's top and bottom lash lines, as if it were a thick liner. Next, she applied Bobbi Brown's Long-Wear Cream Shadow in Smoky Topaz ($24) on top, blending it with a small dome brush. For the lid portion, "I kept the color below the crease to keep it fun and light," Inglessis said, making sure the inner corners were made bright. A little black mascara finished off the eyes, and a touch of Bobbi Brown's Pot Rouge in Pale Pink ($24) lent a subtle, sweet glow to the cheeks and lips.
