Styling short hair [1] can seem like a daunting task: buns and ponytails [2] require a bit more length. But then Emma Stone [3] appeared on the 2015 Oscars red carpet [4], proving even ladies with cropped strands can rock an Old Hollywood hairstyle. Her gorgeous red mane featured waves (turning her lob into a wob [5]), with sexy sideswept bangs and it pinned back into a loose chignon. It's perfect for anyone headed to a wedding (or even your own nuptials!).
L'Oréal Paris celebrity hairstylist Mara Roszak was responsible for this red carpet piece of art. "Emma wore a gorgeous, lacy Elie Saab gown in a beautiful green color," Roszak said. "The color against her red hair reminded me of a beautiful, watercolor painting – very whimsical and 1930s, so I wanted the hair to have a similar feel." She created waves with a one-inch ghd Curve Classic Curl Iron [6] ($245) before letting it set in pin curls. After taking them out, she shaped the hair into an "S'" wave with a comb and her hands, focusing on the front. It was then all pinned back and set in place with cult favorite L'Oréal Paris Elnett Extra Hold Hairspray [7] ($12).
Emma's Chanel makeup by Rachel Goodwin complemented the look flawlessly. "Her look is soft and ethereal, with the total feeling of Spring," Goodwin said, highlighting Emma's standout peachy-coral lip. Said pucker was the perfect example of high-low beauty, as it featured Chanel Precision Lip Definer in Rouge Candy [8] ($29) buffed off with a lip brush and then coated with Revlon Ultra HD lipstick in Tulip [9] ($8).
